This week, are going to look at a cult leader who espouses some very dangerous wellness advice - Jillian Epperly and her poop cult. While recently many vloggers, bloggers, and even Dr. Phil have focused on the dangers of the salt content, it's been noticed that Epperly's actions are very cult like. That is what we are going to focus upon tonight using Boze Herrinton's "signs of a cult" parameters.
One point to note, there is no overt religious overtones to what Epperly promotes which makes this exploration interesting. As atheists we are generally concerned with overt harms caused by religion but here, there are none. What is demonstrated is the lack of critical thought or education and devotion to a collective that makes some pretty outlandish promises based on virtually nothing.
